Differential diagnosis
Ejection Sounds may be confused with:

• Split S1 ( ES later in systole than wide S1)
• Fourth heart sound – S4. (Establish systole by palpation or EKG in phono)
• Mitral Valve Prolapse. (ES earlier in systole than clicks caused by MVP.

Treatment must be considered and may vary based on the underlying pathological cause of the murmur. (i.e Aortic Stenosis, hypertension, anemia, high cardiac output states)
